Basic Ainsley Check the box if you want to handicap the horses according this algorithm, based on a method described by Tom Ainsley in the absolute classic "Ainslie's Complete Guide to Thoroughbred Racing".
Handicapper Blend Check the box if you want to handicap the horses according the Handicapper 2 proprietary algorithm .
Use Custom Algorithm Check the box if you want to use your own algorithm for handicapping. This feature is only available if you have purchased the one-time in-app upgrade for $9.99.
Custom Algorithm Settings Settings Click the field to set up your custom algorithm. You you can assign the importance of each data field. Custom algorithm settings are only meaningful when using the custom algorithm, above, which is only available after a one-time $9.99 in-app upgrade to the program.
Beyers to Analyze Click any or all of these fields to sort/handicap races by the last, last two, or last three Beyers.
Speed and Track Variants to Analyze Click any or all of these fields to sort/handicap races by the last, last two, or last three Speed and Track Variants.
Format Score Display Each horse is assigned a score when handicapped. That score can be displayed as a sum (for instance, the sum of the last three Beyers), or as an average (the average of the last three Beyers), or weighted so that the top scoring horse always has a score of 100 and all other horses are weighted proportionately. Note that for custom algorithms, proportional scores are always used, regardless of the score format selected.
Dealing with Scores of Zero Sometimes a horse has a missing data element in the past performances, or a score of zero (Did the horse throw the rider?). Many handicappers will want to rate the horse based on the horse's more typical performance. You can be pessimistic and elect to leave scores of zero as-is, be optimistic and replace the zero with the average of the other two scores (such as the other two Beyers), or be realistic and replace the zero with the average of the other three scores.
Always Use the Internal File Browser If you want HandicapperPlus to use its built-in file browser instead of any external file browsers you may have installed on your device (Such as ES File Explorer or Root Browser), simply check the box.
